As part of their fundraising activity badge, 1st Blackfords Explorer Sea Scouts RN37, from Cannock Chase District, are going to undertake a 20 mile sponsored walk on 1st November 2014, to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion.
The Explorer Sea Scouts and Leaders will be walking from their hut in Cannock to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas. We have been busy collecting sponsors as well as undertaking practice hikes in preparation for the big hike.

As part of the route will involve walking alongside main roads they have been lent some reflective jackets by EM Highway Services, (EM Highway Services is the leading highways asset maintenance and management provider specialising in the delivery of road maintenance contracts). As they maintain the Motorways and Trunk Roads in Area 9 which includes the A38 near theNational Memorial Arboretum.
