We are very pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the County Team.

Aaron Brown has been appointed as County Youth Commissioner. Aaron has been an active part of the County Youth Team helping strengthen our youth involvement at a County level. He attended the World Scout Jamboree in Japan this summer and has a lot of great ideas and enthusiasm to help support youth involvement in Districts. He will be coordinating the Staffordshire Youth Team going forward, and taking the lead with our annual youth conference. Aaron will be championing having young people involved at all levels, including in all County meetings where young people can help make a difference. He will be organising meetings for District Youth Commissioners in due course to share best practise around the County.

Josh Armitage has been appointed as Deputy County Youth Commissioner. Josh has recently moved into Staffordshire and brings a wealth of experience with him. He has been activity involved with youth involvement in previous roles and Josh is currently the District Youth Commissioner for Three Towns and an active Scout leader. Josh will be working with Aaron, and District Youth Commissioners across the County to support them in ensuring young people are represented and able to express their views on Scouting locally.

I’d like to thank Rob Gilbert (ACC Youth Involvement) for his drive and enthusiasm with youth involvement in the last 12 months. Rob has handed over the reins to Aaron and Josh, as he is returning to University for his final year now. Rob has achieved many things, with more young people now involved in shaping Scouting and I hope that Districts have found him to be a great support.

Please look out for Aaron and Josh around the Districts. Paula and I look forward to working with them supporting everyone in involving more young people in decision making and making Scouting more youth shaped in Staffordshire.

Yours in Scouting

Paul Creaser
Deputy County Commissioner (Programme)
