Staffordshire County Young Leaders – Training Weekend

We are pleased to announce bookings for the Spring 2022 Young Leader Training Weekends are now open!
The weekend is open to all Young Leaders across Staffordshire.

We’ll be running two courses in Spring:

‘Inspire’ Training Course
(aimed at those in their first year of being a Young Leader)
Modules D (Understanding behaviour), E (Game on!), G (Programme Plans) and H (Programme Plans Plus)
‘Vision’ Training Course
(aimed at those wanting to further develop their skills as a Young Leader)
Modules B (Taking the Lead), C (Sharing Skills), F (Making Scouting accessible and inclusive), I (Youth Shaped Scouting) and J (Communicate it!)

These will take place at Drum Hill Scout Camp, from 4th – 6th February 2022.

During the weekend, we will have chance to go through modules from the Young Leaders’ scheme and have plenty of time for general discussion as well as fun and games! Leaders who you may not know will be helping during the weekend giving you help and advice from their prior experiences. There will be Young Leaders present from around the County, so there will be plenty of opportunities to share ideas with everyone.
The cost for the weekend is £35- we encourage you to approach your Groups about supporting some or all of the cost of this training, if they are able to. These courses are residential and catered and will be run in line with current guidance for secure Scouting. There is some indoor accommodation which we will be using, however this may not accommodate all participants, so we encourage you to come prepared to camp if possible.
Please complete booking form at https://forms.office.com/r/FtbKLsnvnB, and send payment to Staffordshire County Scout Council, sort code 60-83-01, account number 20288666, with the reference “YL Feb 22 (Participant Name)”. Payment must be received to validate your place.
There is a maximum of 40 places for the weekend, so please get your replies to the office as soon as you can (first come, first served).

Further information will be sent out closer to the weekend – we will use the contact email addresses on the application form for this, so please ensure it is correct.
If anyone has questions, please let me know!

Yours in Scouting,
Paul Creaser
